Let's skip the gondola, go deep into a valley and spend 4 hours walking back to our hotel. After all it's our honeymoon... These are the kind of choices I make when he lets me decide. Except I don't think about the consequences until it's too late. I just thought, why not take a different path?

The changing scenery distracted me from my sore feet. We walked away from the rocks, still carrying them in our socks and entered the forest. We crossed a little stream, passed a dam and I daydreamed about each cabin I saw. Thinking this one is surely cuter than the last one.

We stopped at Zmutt, a small village above Zermatt. Though not long enough to fill our bellies. We agreed to end our long day (8-9 hours of walking) with a romantic dinner, after a shower. The "romantic" part of our dinner didn't quite happen. We basically scarfed our food and ran back to the hotel...

I've been keeping a red journal empty for years, waiting for the perfect time to start writing in it (I have several empty journals. The prettier they are, the harder it is to start them). I think the beginning of our marriage and our lovely but unconventional honeymoon is the perfect time to start.

I have a feeling I've convinced some of you to visit Switzerland one day. In that case I'll have to include trail maps outlining paths we take. I'll have it up soon.
